General Wine Term

The most popular wood material used to store wine, oak will add flavor and aroma to the wine. The length of storage, wear of the oak barrel, and number of other components in the wine will determine if the oak tones are weak or strong. Oak also helps a wine age well, and over that time the taste and smell will slowly disintegrate.
