Hollow

Wine Tasting Term

A hollow wine is missing the defining characteristics that make a wine appealing. The flavors lack definition and the wine tastes flaccid in the mouth. Upon swallowing, the aftertaste will end abruptly.

A hollow wine can also be called an *empty* or *shallow* wine.
