Developed

Wine Tasting Term

The stages in development of a wine tracks its readiness to be drunk, based on the maturity of the wine.

A developed wine has been properly aged; it is at its peak and ready for immediate consumption.

An undeveloped or underdeveloped wine has not yet reached its prime and needs more time to develop its body and flavors.

An overdeveloped wine has spent too much time in the bottle and may no longer feature its best qualities when drank.
