Concentrated
Wine Tasting Term
|
|
Concentration is defined as the density of flavors and aromas in a wine. It is one of the many characteristics of a superior wine.
Do not confuse concentration with body. Concentration refers to the richness in flavor in a wine that comes from the fruit, tannins, acid and other elements of the wine. Concentration can be used to describe light-, medium- and full-bodied wines. The body of a wine refers to the weight of the liquid in your mouth. Although a full-bodied wine feels dense on the palate, if it lacks flavor, it is not concentrated.
A concentrated wine can also be called *deep*.
